About For Flavor’s Sake
For Flavor’s Sake started with one simple belief: better food leads to a better life.
I’m David, and I make small batch, globally inspired seasoning blends in Minnesota. I built these blends for the way most of us actually cook: busy days, simple ingredients, and a desire to put something on the table that feels like you tried, even when you are tired.
Why I started
I kept seeing two extremes. Seasonings that were basically salt with a little flavor, or complicated blends that sounded great but did not work across everyday meals. I wanted something different. Blends that bring bright, balanced flavor without being salt forward, and without relying on fillers. Just clean ingredients, blended with purpose.
I want you to be able to grab one jar and immediately know what to do with it. Not a long recipe. Not rules. Just clear guidance that helps you cook with confidence.
How I build the blends
I test every spice recipe like a chef. That means I cook with it repeatedly before it ever becomes a product. I try it on proteins, vegetables, grains, and simple pantry meals because that is real life. If a blend only works in one specific dish, it is not ready. If it overpowers the food, it is not ready. If it needs salt to be interesting, it is not ready.
Each jar is measured, tested, and made with care in small batches. Consistency matters, so what you love in one jar is what you get in the next.
Where we are now
I started For Flavor’s Sake under Minnesota’s cottage food laws in 2025 with three signature blends, and I’m building out new seasonal blends that keep things fresh without turning the lineup into chaos.
I care about making blends that feel worth it. Flexible enough that you will use them all week, not just once. Flavorful enough that you feel proud serving the meal. Practical enough that they still make sense for your wallet.
Sustainability, the real version
Sustainability is a key part of my future, and I’m approaching it the honest way: step by step, as the business grows.
I’m working toward more eco friendly packaging options like recycled glass and compostable refill bags, and I want long term partnerships with local farms when it makes sense for quality, sourcing, and reducing ingredient miles. I’m not pretending I can flip a switch overnight. I am building this carefully and committing to progress that is real.
What I’m here to do
My mission is to help people cook better food with blends that respect their health, their wallets, and their time. My vision is a Minnesota grown brand with national reach, rooted in community, quality, and flavor.
Every jar has a purpose. Every blend has a story. And this whole journey is built with intention, care, and the joy of good food.
